IMPACT OF SELECTIVE SEROTONIN REUPTAKE INHIBITORS (SSRIs) DURING PREGNANCY AND LACTATION: A FOCUS ON SHORT AND LONG-TERM VASCULAR EFFECTS.
Abstract SSRIs are the first choice for the treatment of mood disorders during pregnancy and lactation. Despite the known side effects, the benefits/risks balance suggests their use. Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) and Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) are the main vascular effects of these drugs, with mechanisms that involves endothelial dysfunction in feto-placental system. These data are supported by animal models, even if preliminary findings are not yet adequately supported by molecular and clinical data. SSRIs. applications and mode of action. Nowadays selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (...

Validation of a vascular access specific quality of life measure (VASQoL)
CONCLUSION: The VASQoL measure has good internal consistency, test-retest reliability, convergent validity and responsiveness to change for clinically relevant vascular access outcomes. This provides a validated, vascular access specific quality of life measure that can be used in future trials of vascular access, evaluation of new technologies and routine use as a patient reported outcome measure (PROM).PMID:34608832 | DOI:10.1177/11297298211046746

A Novel Finding: The Effect of Nurse Practitioners on the Relation to Quality of Life, Anxiety, and Depressive Symptoms in Vascular Surgery
Conclusions: The same improvements were found for QoL and anxiety scores in both groups. Vascular NPs are therefore competent to explain procedures and guide patients through vascular interventions.

Impact of the multimedia information site www.vascu.org on the preoperative anxiety of the vascular patients: Results of the VASCU.ORG multicentric, randomized, controlled study
Anxiety is frequent before surgery. The implications of preoperative anxiety in terms of morbi-mortality are numerous and well-known. Several approaches were thus planned to decrease preoperative anxiety. However no consensual tool was developed in vascular surgery. The purpose of the VASCU.ORG study was to create a new multimedia information support targeting vascular surgery patients and to evaluate its effectiveness on preoperative anxiety reduction.

Efficacy of fresh-frozen cadaveric surgical training for arteriovenous fistula in vascular access
CONCLUSIONS: CST for AVF creation is useful for surgical education because it enables learning of surgical techniques that are almost equivalent to those in living bodies. In addition, this study suggested that CST not only contributes to the improvement of surgical skills of young surgeons but also promotes the reduction of anxiety and stress about AVF creation.PMID:37070175 | DOI:10.1177/11297298231169056

Neuropsychiatric syndromes associated with stroke: review of the literature
Conclusion These findings emphasize the lack of information on the therapeutic management of neuropsychiatric complications secondary to stroke, especially considering the burden on public health represented by cerebrovascular diseases. Following the improvement in the survival rates with the early strategies to stroke, the advancement of knowledge on neuropsychiatric disorders seem to have the greatest potential to improve the quality of life of patients affected by stroke.
